16 – 24 Months

How We Can Help

Toddlerhood is a time of dramatic change and numerous challenges for both the toddler and their parents. The toddler period starts when your child is twelve months old continuing until they are three years old.

Toddlerhood is a critical time period for early brain development as important neural pathways are being developed. This brain development is influenced by all the experiences they are exposed to. The aim for parents is to provide lots of positive everyday experiences.

Tantrums and negativity are a common behaviour during the toddler period as they learn to control their world. These behaviours can be exhausting and frustrating parents and the whole family.

Every toddler is unique and every child’s needs are different and they develop at different stages.

What is the right age to seek advice with sleep concerns?

The right age to seek advice is when you are having an issue and you feel that the time is right for you and your family to get some help.  The earlier you implement an age appropriate routine, your toddler is more likely to transition smoothly through other developmental stages and it will be less likely that you will have sleep issues as your child gets older.
